Scarlett Johansson - American Actress and singer (born in NYC on 22 November 1984) The versatility of her work in acting has earned her much acclaim in everything from the dramas of the past to thrillers and adventure. Johansson has a father who is a film producer and an architect. Her family was based in New York City. Her twin brother Hunter were the youngest of four siblings. Her interest began in acting from a very young age and was auditioning for commercials before age seven. Then she began her studies at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and afterwards went to the Professional Children's School in Manhattan to further hone her craft. Her debut came as an actor in the film North (1994) at the age of nine. At eight, she was a part of Ethan Hawke on Off-Broadway in Sophistry. Johansson was later seen in Just Cause, but she made her debut with Manny & Lo, a film about siblings left behind by their parents who escape. Next, she received the praise of critics for playing the role of a teenager who suffered an accident that resulted in her being with a blemish on screen in The Horse Whisperer (1998).
